Cape Town Carnival 2025

March 13th 2025, The City, showcased once again  why it is known,  as the best city in the world, when it held its annual Cape Town Carnival. 

With dazzling floats, electrifying performances, and stunning costumes, even the weather played its part.

Fifteen years has not dulled the Carnival festivities, that has become better and better every year, thanks to the hard work and passion of the Cape Town  Carnival Trust, and the City of Cape Town.

This year, for the first time, the DHL Stormers rugby team, participated, and on  their 5meters in-length, float  called 'Taking the Cape by Storm' they brought the crowds to their feet.

Leading the Parade, was 100 Harley Davidson bikes, 15 Jeeps, 35 Police Officers, a jet-ski with the Proudly South African flag flying high, 17 Firefighters and their Firetruck.

As well as runners, from REDBULL.

Four Chuma robots and three mascots from People Post, Anti-litter and Badisa Tygerburg and Zoo entertained the many crowds of locals and tourists.

This year's  theme, was WowZA! and delivered glamour, wonder, joy and community.

Hosted by KFM 94.5fm, DJ Ready D  and Youngsta CPT, the line-up also included, Rio Carnivals' Queen of the drums, Brazilian actress and performer,  Erika Januza.

The South African Youth Choir, Bravo Le Roux, and the Drag Cartel.

There was almost 1500 involved in the parade, that included the Float operators, the marshalls, show control, PM assistants and Leads. 

There were also four ambulances, medical tents, many toilets, visible police, lots of food and toy vendors.

There was also a concert area, that entertained everyone, waiting for the parade to begin. 

Twelve floats, some as high as nine meters in height and length, and a Chinese cultural float. All the floats were eye-popping, beautifully designed and imagined.
